Primeworks Studios Sdn Bhd is the content creation subsidiary of Media Prima and Malaysia's largest production company. Producing TV content since 1984 and feature films since 1994, it generates over 5,000 hours of TV content and 10 movies annually.

Primeworks business activities encompass content creation as well as content distribution and marketing. Content for the 4 commercial television channels in the Media Prima group i.e. TV3, ntv7, 8TV and TV9 constitutes a large part of the business and includes entertainment, magazine, documentary, drama and sports programmes. Flagship and popular shows include Anugerah Juara Lagu, Majalah 3, Nona, Jalan Jalan Cari Makan, One In A Million, Mentor, Wanita Hari Ini, Melodi, Malaysia Hari Ini and Jejak Rasul.

An in-house content development team generates and develops concepts for television shows and is the starting point for virtually all content projects. Internal resources include full production teams, technical support teams, production facilities including studios and editing suites while the in-house Creative Services department produces graphics, set designs, wardrobe and make-up services and provides art direction and A&P campaign planning for external clients.

Feature films form another essential activity of Primeworks Studios. Self-produced movies and collaborations with local producers on co-productions and distribution deals have achieved notable success in local cinemas. These include Senario, Evolusi KL Drift, Cinta, Susuk, Duyung, Dunia Baru and Geng: Pengembaraan Bermula.

The movie Talentime a collaboration between Primeworks Studios and the late Yasmin Ahmad resulted in several awards at the 2009 Malaysian Film Festival, including awards for Best Director, Best Screen Play, Best Supporting Actor, Most Promising Actress and the "Special Jury Prize" for implementing Humanitarian elements in a Motion Picture".

Marketing and distribution of content is handled by the Studio Business division that has successfully attracted clients from foreign markets including Korea, Singapore, UK, USA and the Middle-East. Primeworks is currently actively pursuing content projects in neighbouring markets including Brunei, Vietnam and the Philippines.
