Bangsar, 30 August 2014 – The Spark Awards For Media Excellence 2014 ended on a high note for New Straits Times, Big Tree Outdoor and Media Prima Digital, when they were crowned Best Media Solution- Print (Gold), Most Improved Offering by a Media Owner (Silver) and Best Media Solution – Media (Bronze) respectively.

The Spark Awards celebrates best practices in media solutions, products and services. It is the premier platform for media owners to showcase their innovations and value proposition to advertisers, agencies and clients. The awards was organised by Marketing Magazine and honours top media owners in the Southeast Asia region, giving them the chance to showcase their services to the industry.

This year, The Spark Awards for Media Excellence 2014 attracted entries from a wide range of media solutions companies, including free-to-air television stations and pay-tv platforms, out-of-home advertising, digital media as well as many independent agencies from around Asia. More than 170 entries were assessed by media professionals who head some of the most renowned agencies in the region.

The New Straits Times (NST) was chosen as the Gold winner for NST-Permanis 5 Series (5D) Campaign, Permanis Sandilands – Wonda Premium Coffee, a ground breaking print-enabled campaign that enabled readers to literally experience the new product with all five senses – touch, sight, sound, smell and taste through the pages of a newspaper.

Big Tree Outdoor – the country’s leading out-of-home advertising company delivering a wide range of integrated out-of-home media services received the Silver Award for Most Improved Offering by a Media Owner through their most innovative first-of-its-kind Cubig Digital Series. Cubig technological capabilities is able to execute animated connectivity across multiple digital screens with synchronising effect where advertisers get to bring their ads to life.

Media Prima Digital’s Tonton mobile also bagged the Bronze Award for Best Media Solution – Media. Tonton mobile redefines how online video content is accessed, offering a world-class experience that is customised and personalised, while allowing the user to stay connected to social networks, which makes the transition of content from mobile to PC and TV seamless.
