BANGSAR, 12 September 2014 – Media Prima Berhad (“Media Prima”) Malaysia’s leading fully integrated media group, today presented RM1.5 million collected from contributions to the Tabung Kemanusiaan Palestin Media Prima Berhad to Mercy Malaysia.
Tabung Kemanusiaan Palestin Media Prima Berhad, established in 2012 was reactivated on 24 July 2014 upon escalation of the conflict in Gaza.
The cheque was presented by Datuk Ahmad A. Talib, Group Advisor, Corporate Social Responsibility, Media Prima to Dato’ Dr. Ahmad Faizal Mohd Perdaus, President of Mercy Malaysia.
Datuk Ahmad A. Talib said, “We are saddened by the atrocities that has led to countless deaths and injuries of men, women and children in Gaza. I believe we speak for the whole nation when we say that we are against merciless killing of innocent civilians. The gruesome images emerging out of Gaza is a grim reminder of how dire the situation is in Gaza and it is our duty to extend assistance in their time of need.”
He added that Media Prima extends its sincere appreciation to all contributors of the Tabung Kemanusiaan Palestin Media Prima Berhad for their kind generosity and support.
“We have collected over RM3 million from caring Malaysians as well as individuals from neighbouring countries. Entire proceeds from the fund has and will continuously be given to Mercy Malaysia and the Perdana Global Peace Foundation to aid their medical and relief efforts in Palestine” said Datuk Ahmad.
