Bangsar, 27 October 2015: Media Prima Berhad (“Media Prima” or the “Group”), Malaysia’s leading fully-integrated media investment group was recently recognised for Best Corporate Governance (Media Category) in Asia by the UK-based Ethical Boardroom Journal.
Ethical Boardroom, in announcing the results on its website (www.ethicalboardroom.com) stated that the Ethical Boardroom Corporate Governance Awards 2015 recognises the outstanding leadership from boards of public companies who have raised the bar to ensure that strong corporate governance plays an essential part in protecting and enhancing long-term value for all stakeholders.
“Malaysia is making great strides in corporate governance, too, ranking top among developing countries in a recent survey by accounting and audit professionals. According to the results report, Malaysia’s strengths include having guidelines for boards to include diversity (including gender) in place, a formal policy for board diversity and measures to achieve gender diversity targets,” it further stated. Media Prima is one of two companies in Malaysia receiving the award.
