BANGSAR, 26 February 2016 – Media Prima Berhad (“Media Prima” or “the Group”), Malaysia’s largest integrated media group is pleased to announced several key appointments to the Group’s Board of Directors (“Board”) and its subsidiary companies, The New Straits Times Press (M) Berhad and Synchrosound Studio Sdn Bhd, effective 26 February 2016. These appointments are:

1.Datuk Mohd Nasir Ahmad, aged 62, is appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Media Prima Berhad and Synchrosound Studio Sdn Bhd. Datuk Mohd Nasir, holds a Master of Business Administration (Finance) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) United Kingdom and a Chartered Accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA). Currently a Council Member of ACCA UK, he also served as the President of MIA from August 2011 to July 2013. He was formerly CEO of Perbadanan Usahawan Nasional Berhad, Syarikat Permodalan Kebangsaan Berhad and Malaysia Transformer Manufacturing Sdn Bhd. Datuk Mohd Nasir currently serves on the Boards of Bina Darulaman Berhad, Sumatec Resources Berhad, CIMB Group Holdings Berhad, CIMB Bank Berhad, CIMB Group Sdn Bhd, MIMOS Berhad and SIRIM Berhad.

2.Dato’ Seri Subahan Kamal, aged 50, is appointed as an Independent Non-Executive Director of The New Straits Times Press (M) Berhad. Dato’ Seri Subahan, holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Accounting from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, United States of America. He currently serves as Chairman of Can One Berhad and Wawasan Qi Properties Sdn Bhd and a Board member of Kian Joo Berhad. He is also currently President of Malaysia Hockey Confederation.

Datuk Seri FD Iskandar, Group Chairman of Media Prima said, “Media Prima is committed towards implementing strategic actions to further consolidate our position as the largest integrated media group in Malaysia. The appointments of Datuk Mohd Nasir and Dato’ Seri Subahan are significant additions to a very strong board in existence at Media Prima and our subsidiary companies,“. He added that the appointment of Datuk Mohd Nasir to the Board of Media Prima reflects the Group’s commitment to implement best practices and good corporate governance where 70 percent of the Board’s composition are Independent Non-Executive Directors.
