KUALA LUMPUR, 17 NOVEMBER 2016 – Media Prima Berhad (“Media Prima” or “the Group”), Malaysia’s largest integrated media group today announced the retirement of YBhg. Dato’ Gumuri Bin Hussain, aged 70, as Senior Independent Non-Executive Director of Media Prima, having served the Group’s Board with distinction since April 2008.
The Group also announced that Dato’ Gumuri has stepped down from his position as Independent Non-Executive Chairman of Sistem Television Malaysia Berhad (“STMB”) effective 18 November 2016.
The Board of Directors of Media Prima (“the Board”) wishes to express its deepest appreciation and gratitude to Dato’ Gumuri for his dedication and contributions to Media Prima and STMB.
Datuk Seri FD Iskandar, Group Chairman of Media Prima said “Dato’ Gumuri has contributed immensely having taken on key roles which include Chairman of the Group’s Audit Committee and member of Media Prima’s Risk Management Committee. Throughout his tenure, he demonstrated tremendous leadership and provided invaluable guidance to the Management team of Media Prima and STMB,”.
