KUALA LUMPUR, 18 March 2020 – Media Prima Berhad (“Media Prima” or the “Group”) said today that it has initiated a Movement Control Order Response Plan (“MCO Response Plan”) for the period beginning 18 March to 31 March 2020. This is in response to and in support of the Government’s activation of the national Movement Control Order announced on 16 March 2020.
As an essential service provider to the nation, Media Prima will balance this responsibility with its responsibility towards its key asset, namely employees. The Media Prima MCO Response Plan will be implemented across the Group comprising, among others, rotational on-site and virtual operations, and on-site split teams operations. These measures are aimed towards reducing the risks of COVID-19 exposure to Media Prima employees while actively contributing to the social distancing efforts for the good of the community.
Before COVID-19 was declared a pandemic, the Group had been taking precautionary measures at its premises, which included frequent temperature checks of all staff and visitors, placing hand sanitizers at strategic locations, intensifying the daily cleaning and sanitization of the offices, as well as implementing travel restrictions of its employees.
These measures together with the measures to be undertaken under the MCO Response Plan, will contribute towards ensuring that Media Prima continues to fulfil its duties as an essential service provider in keeping the public informed on the latest COVID-19 developments and other pertinent news affecting the nation through its news brands. Media Prima’s audiences can also expect to continue enjoying quality contents across all the Group’s media platforms which will remain uninterrupted throughout the period.
