PETALING JAYA, 8 March 2019 – Ejen Ali, a 3D animated series about a boy accidentally recruited into a secret spy agency, was crowned the Malaysia Winner in the Best 3D Animated Programme or Series category of the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AAA). A co-production between Primeworks Studios and Wau Animation, the win was announced by the awards committee at a special industry event in Cannes, France last October. The national win also earned the series a nomination in same category at the Asian-level competition, held last December at Singapore’s historic Capitol Theatre.

Datuk Ahmad Izham Omar, Chief Executive Officer of Primeworks Studios said, “Three years since its debut, we are thrilled to see Ejen Ali’s accomplishments grow from strength to strength. With the endorsement from Asian Academy Creative Awards under our belt, we hope Ejen Ali will continue to smash missions around the world with the impressive animation quality from our partners Wau Animation, supported by an ever-expanding line of licensed products.”

We consider the win to be a timely encouragement while we are crafting the next big chapter in Ejen Ali the Movie, set for release in December 2019.”
