Here we share an overview of how your donations to our funds continue to support people and communities.

We are dedicated to helping those who are in need

Our History

We recognise that our organisation can have a considerable impact on society. In 1991, we established a platform to encourage public donations towards causes we care about. We leverage the strength of our media platforms to generate support, raise awareness and channel the funds to benefit those in need.

Please note that when the collection amount exceeds the amount needed for a case, the proceeds will then be carried-forward to the next case.

As the nation’s leading and largest media group, we take it as our responsibility to utilise our media platforms to help generate awareness towards important causes. Our funds champion two areas — poverty relief and educational support.

Our three funds, Media Prima-NSTP Humanitarian Fund (founded in 1991), Tabung Bersamamu (founded in 2005) and Bantuan Metro Prihatin (founded in 2019), have assisted thousands of families and individuals facing hardships due to poverty.

Over the years, Media Prima has also assisted students and schools around Malaysia by sponsoring school uniforms and exam workshops to prepare primary students for their exams.

Making a difference across borders

Media Prima launched the Tabung Kemanusiaan Palestin Media Prima in 2012 to enable caring individuals and organisations to make contributions to ease the plight faced by civilians caught up in the ongoing political conflict and natural disasters worldwide.

With your donation, you join thousands in helping to alleviate the suffering of those affected by the conflict in Palestine.
Proceeds from the fund will be used to provide humanitarian assistance to those affected by the conflict.

Since 1991, we have continued to positively impact the lives of those unable to afford medical treatment. We provide financial assistance and other necessary resources to those in need, irrespective of race and religion through active collaborations with medical institutions in identifying the less fortunate.

The Media Prima-NSTP Humanitarian fund leverages the popular TV3 documentary Bersamamu. Our news brands, Berita Harian, New Straits Times and Harian Metro use its platforms to highlight the plight of underprivileged individuals to encourage public donations.

Media Prima launched the Tabung Bencana NSTP-Media Prima to help victims of major disasters which include floods, earthquakes, landslides, and fires locally.

Assistance to those affected by natural disasters are given in the form of cash contributions, cash vouchers, and essentials kits through government bodies such as Jabatan Kebajikan Masyarakat (JKM) and Pejabat Daerah.

We appeal to generous and caring Malaysians to provide a helping hand and relief to the victims of disasters. Every contribution counts and we want you to be part of this effort to make a positive impact in our world.

Bala Chantran Arumugam, 17 years old

When I was diagnosed with appendicitis in 2021, the doctor discovered that the infection had affected my right leg. It saddened me that I had to have it amputated. I am grateful for the support of Malaysians who donated money to pay for my below-knee prosthesis. The leg has allowed me to join Scout Club at school and make new friends; it also enabled me to go on amazing adventure trips and learn new skills.

Khoo Yeak Xuan, 18 years old

Thank you to Malaysians for funding my son's surgery. My son, Yeak Xuan, had successful heart surgery to replace his pulmonary valve. He was diagnosed with congenital heart disease, resulting in blood leaking from the lungs into the right pumping chamber of his heart. - Tan Bee Yan, mother.

There is no word that can describe how thankful I am, thank you to everyone who has helped me get this prosthetic leg. I can now slowly become independent and climb my way back to the top. I am planning to start my own small-scale business, this leg will make it easier for me to move around.
